Joe Curren

Joe is a professional surfer, who has been surfing all over the world with his surf-centric family. As much as Joe loves traveling for surf, he finds personal fulfillment in documenting trips through his own eyes. In recent years he’s been taking an ever growing camera quiver with him, and enjoys sharing his adventures and vision with an increasing audience. When I first met Joe in the Outer Hebrides, right after the 9/11 attacks, he expressed some interest in the art of photography. At the time he was producing small diary pieces for a Japanese surf website and was taking pictures with his cell phone. He has come a long way and will soon be releasing his coffee table book in winter ‘07.
