Taylor Knox

Taylor Knox, a Carlsbad California local, rents a room from Duncan Campbell each North Shore winter. He’s a WCT tour veteran who is constantly working on being a stronger and better surfer. Taylor works closely with shaper Al Merrick and just came out with his own signature model. He still loves to experiment with other design possibilities though, and exchanging theories with the Campbell’s ‘be mindful’ approach is something that he has a passion for. During the winter season of 2005/2006 we visited with Duncan and Taylor and interviewed the two talking about the “magic” board. We also documented Taylor surfing on conventional tri fin boards and Bonzer 5 fins, anywhere from 2’ Beach Park to dumping Haleiwa, shifty Sunset and bone crushing Log Cabins.
